ABOUT

So what do you actually do?

Within my role I manage a group of Gymshark athletes consisting of Team GB Olympic medallists to fitness influencers.

We work with our athletes to enhance their profiles as well as raising the brand awareness of Gymshark through different avenues - this can be through product launches, brand campaigns and athlete collaborations.

What has your career path been?

I started out in my university’s in house marketing agency working with clients such as the Bullring & Grand Central, this gave me a great insight into the industry and also helped to network with different professionals.

I went on to do my placement year at EA SPORTS working within the FIFA marketing and brand partnerships team. Throughout this role I collaborated with EA Sports partner clubs such as Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to support on content creation and activations throughout the FIFA 20 calendar.

What is the best part of your job?

The day to day autonomy where I am able to work with my athletes individually and support on each campaign.

There is also a strong collaborative culture at Gymshark which enables a deeper insight into each department when working across campaigns.

Why do you do your job?

To work for a global brand such as Gymshark, motivation is all around - from the team to the office environment the ethos of the brand is very much people led!

Also working across campaigns that are making a difference in todays society plays a huge part in why I do this job!

One piece of advice for someone starting in your role?

Hard work works!

Always keep asking questions and actively learning on the job! Also be yourself and express your individuality within the role through networking and bringing new ideas to the table.

DAY IN THE LIFE

The saying is true, no two days are the same!

Normally the day to day role would consist of liaising with Athletes or Athlete Managers in regards to upcoming campaigns, product launches or collaborations. However this could differ when bringing athletes to Gymshark HQ, supporting on campaign shoots or hosting Gymshark events!
